When your warehouse and distribution center maintenance personnel have to replace floor labels on a daily basis, it’s time to rethink your labeling strategy.
Chicago, IL, January 8, 2007 Sky-Marx Floor Label Replacement System™ (FLRS) replaces floor labels or painted position markings with high-quality labels suspended overhead. Scannable location labels are out of the way, right where they are needed, facilitating unobstructed viewing and scanning.
Sky-Marx FLRS is an innovative, patent-pending labeling product that mounts high quality labels on sturdy backing plates, which are securely attached to durable netting strips. The lightweight strips are easily installed over storage areas to identify locations. Sky-Marx strips are available in any length up to 400 feet. The product is maintenance-free, virtually indestructible, and enables reliable scanning at distances up to 40 feet with extended range bar code scanners.
Sky-Trax, Inc. is introducing two popular Sky-Marx formats at ProMat 2007. The Bentonville provides two labels on vinyl substrate in a “T” format. The Glen Burnie positions the two labels in parallel, with human readable text label above the retro-reflective bar code. These two standard product formats meet 90% of customer requirements, and bring advantages of cost efficiency and short delivery time. Custom formats and do-it-yourself kits are also available.
Sky-Marx strips are custom assembled with location tags pre-placed in proper positions, making installation quick and easy. Most customers will be capable of installing Sky-Marx strips themselves. As an option, Sky-Trax Inc. is also announcing availability of installation services for any site in the USA. Installation can be done during working hours without disrupting warehouse operations.
“Accurate and quick determination of location information is very important in our operation” explains Beau Michel, Director of Distribution from R. E. Michel Company, who uses Sky-Marx in his distribution centers. He reports a 50% reduction in receiving errors, increased inventory accountability and productivity, improved put away speed, and significantly reduced inventory corrections.
In another customer’s operations, 3rd shift maintenance personnel have been reassigned from replacing bar code floor labels to more productive jobs. Another user found Sky-Marx bar code scan-ability and readability superior when compared to expensive floor labels which were protected by metal bezels with plastic covers. Small objects lying across the bar code or scratched covers had caused misreads and unreliable scanning.
