Sky-Trax CEO, Mitch Silver Featured In Podcast Interview
Sky-Trax, Inc.’s CEO Mitch Silver is featured in Podcast to discuss collaboration with Danaher Motion and the benefits & capabilities of Sky-Trax solutions.
New Castle, Delaware, July 13, 2007 Sky-Trax Inc. (Sky-Trax) CEO, Mitch Silver was featured in a Podcast interview today hosted by Ken Rayment of Better Process Podcast. In the interview, Mitch elaborates on the collaboration with Danaher Motion that will provide the world with its first AGV-Forklift Collision Avoidance System.
“Danaher Motion, our partner on this project, came to us (Sky-Trax) with the concern of collisions between forklift trucks and AGV’s”, said Mitch Silver. “What Sky-Trax will provide in this partnership is an inch accurate tracking solution with the ability to track the location of indoor moving fork trucks.”
Mitch went on to talk about how the Sky-Trax technology can be built into fork trucks or AVG’s and how the information is transmitted to determine each vehicles location and travel direction. This current project collaboration with Danaher Motion is still under development; however both parties are looking forward to introducing a new technology to enhance operations in both the manufacturing and warehousing industries.
In this interview, Ken and Mitch also discussed one of the biggest challenges that people of the Material Handling Industry face, SAFETY. “One of the biggest challenges that people face in this industry is safety”, said Mitch. “In fact, safety is what has driven Sky-Trax’s technology and what many people find in this industry, is that they have to trade off safety for profitability. In this particular case, Sky-Trax has created a win-win solution where you can not only increase safety, but you can also increase profitability as well.”
The interview concluded with Mitch summarizing some of the primary benefits of the Sky-Trax (Indoor Positioning System) IPS product and its capabilities. Some of these highlighted benefits included safety, fleet and route optimization, vehicle efficiency and increased productivity rates.
